If you are an established business customer of ours, please call or use the below form to arrange service for your device. We are not accepting new customers or service requests on consumer-grade devices until May. Is your printer, scanner, or projector down or not working as intended? Come to our Service Center or schedule an appointment for us to come to you, and our technicians will diagnose, troubleshoot, service, or repair your device.
Our range of label printers can get your business up and running fast, printing labels in-house; giving you greater control, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness over buying pre-printed labels from a distributor. Portland Printer Place has partnered with AstroNova QuickLabel, Canon, and Epson to provide you with the highest quality in-house label production devices available in today's high-speed, efficiency-focused market.
Years of customer analysis has shown that printing your own labels in house saves up to 4x more on costs than buying pre-printed labels from an online/local vendor. Large online label distributors will charge high markups on quantities of less than 10,000 pre-printed labels per label variety. For small to medium sized businesses that use a variety of labels, this can be extremely costly and can leave you with boxes of unusable labels should your product offerings change. This is where owning your own label printer comes in: Having in-house color label solutions gives you the control, drastically reducing wait times, cost per label, and label waste.
As all workplaces are unique and have different needs, one printer does not necessarily "fit all." Laserjet, for instance, does not print photographic images with as much clarity as inkjet. For most offices, the quality difference is not important. See below for assistance in choosing the right printer for your company's needs.

I rarely write reviews, but this company deserves to be recognized. My Epson printer gave me an error code and Epson stated it was out of warranty and sent me a link to recommended service locations. This location was the closest, but not necessarily close to us, so I gave them a call to see if they could assist via phone or at least determine if it was worth taking in for repair.
The person that assisted me (I'm sorry I forgot your name), was very kind and sincere. My printer is basically dead and not worth repairing, but I appreciate the honesty and not having to drive 1-1.5 hours to find this out! Thank you once again!

Best Printer service! I called them today after hp support just mention to me that I need to purchase a new printer that will be $599.99 instead of helping me with the issue that I asked about. Luckly I called Portland Printer Place to ask about the issue with my printer M476nw showing me a message "memory is low, job is cancelled press ok" and it doesn't print a single paper anymore.
The person who responded was very helpful answered my questions with full explanation and inform me about if there is an issue with the board and what it will cost. He walked me through the steps that I should do to figure the exact issue of why this message appears via the phone call. After following exactly what he told me to do, my printer started to print normally with no issues at all!

I had my office printers serviced at Portland Printer Place when I owned a business years ago and was always impressed with their customer service and expertise. Today my Canon inkjet printer had a major paper jam and I brought it in. Chris got it working again in short order and said the repair would be $20. I had assumed there would be a much higher minimum charge and offered to pay more, but he politely refused! An exceptional business that treats its customers with honesty and integrity.

We had a great experience with Portland Printer Place. They are really knowledgeable and were happy to answer all of our questions. Turn around time was great. They delivered/installed the printer and went above and beyond to ensure that we received a manufacture rebate. Five stars all around and we look forward to future business. If you are looking for a printer, supplies, or repairs I highly suggest keeping it local with the Portland Printer Place.

This is a changed company. They say they fix your printer and do not touch it: My printer did not work when I brought it in and when I got it home after their "no repair" and after paying them $300 it did not work. They told me "too bad"! They told me; "THE PORTLAND PRINTER PLACE" does not back it's repairs! I had to spend $700 on a new printer for my business. I wasted $1000.00 About a year ago I brought my printer to this shop and it was expensive but they fixed it and it worked great. Now it is our customer's are suckers.

I called them very close to closing and got some advice. I asked if it was too late to come in and they kindly said it was fine to run on by. When I arrived they went to extraordinary lengths to diagnose my machine and give me good advice that repair was more expensive than replacement. I feel like they are very honest, dependable people and I will gladly come back in the future.

The people at Portland Printer Place are wonderful, they do excellent work at an excellent price. They were helpful and kind and brilliant at getting my broken scanner back up and running. I will definitely be back for all my printer and scanner repair needs. (Plus they have the sweetest dog in their shop.)

I can't believe Chris spent so much time helping me figure out an elusive problem over the phone - successfully. He seemed determined NOT to make me pay him to come out and do it onsite. Given all the hours I've spent on the phone with manufactures of printers trying to resolve problems, I regret not having known about Portland Printer Place long ago.

I have known about The Printer Place for seceral years, but never needed to bring my printer in until yesterday. I had made several calls for help in the past, getting one of the two great repair gentlemen, Cesar, who always walked me throught the problem via phone! Saved me many trips and money! But yesterday, I had an issue that Daryll tried to talk me through.
Wonderful guy! He let me call several times without a blink! But it needed to be seen in person this time. So I brought in in, and met Stephanie, the wonderful receptionist, who gets you to the right person, and greets you at the door! Hey it can't get better than the other greeter, Duke, the 9 month old 100 pound puppy, who makes everyone feel happy happy.
He has a likker license! Anyway, Daryll tried to fix the printer while I waited. It was a push pin so embedded that even after a half hour trying to get it out, we both decided it needed to be left there. He asked me when I needed it, and I said I had jobs waiting. The next day, I got a call. The printer was ready to go. I think I will break it again just to come back here. Thanks Daryll!

I can't say enough positive things about this business. Everyone was incredibly kind. They demonstrated that they are Honest and Trustworthy! I had a printer issue. Darrell Schulden, the repair technician could have told me anything.and charged me any amount? Instead.he showed me that I simply needed to clean a particular part, and how to do it.
Problem solved! In this day and age.a business that relies on Honest, Trustworthy business practices! I recommend you go to Portland Printer Place for all and any printer repair solutions! Thank you guys!

This has to be the best printer repair business in Portland! Darrell Schulden, their service technician, was incredibly helpful to me. In this day and age, when we fear we'll be taken advantage of. Darrell proved there are still some Honest people alive! He could have told me anything and made me pay a kings ransom to fix my printer. Instead.he showed me how to clean a part, that resolved the problem! How great, honest, and respectable is that! I recommend this business to anyone who has printer issues!

They had me up and running or printing in 5 minutes. They then showed me how to service the printer myself and then didn't charge me for the work. I would totally recommend them for their friendly and knoledgable service. I had previously had a very pleasant conversation to do recon and the technician was patient and informative in explaining their service policies. Thank you Portland Printer Place! You're the best!

They are super nice in here, from the gal who answered the phone telling me how they work, to the person who kindly unloaded my behemoth of a printer from my car, only to find out the jam was a teeny tiny scrap of paper stuck in the front of the tray. Thanks to their handy cart and simple flash light, problem was solved painlessly. I'll definitely rely on these guys next time I have a printer issue. They're great!

I took a multifunction Xerox printer into this place, even though they were uncertain if they could fix it. They're the most awesome place I have dealt with in a really long time. Darrell looked the machine over and his troubleshooting skills took over. It was fixed in no time and really reasonable prices. Everyone was so friendly, thanks everyone.

Amazing customer service! Honestly can't believe how this company goes out of their way to solve your problem and take the time to help. It is unheard of today. I would recommend them to anyone and will do so for all the service and products they offer. Chris the owner is to be commended for the best customer service ever! The Pumpkin Patch, Sauvie Island

I can't speak to the quality of their repairs, but the quality of their customer service is excellent. Even though I just called to get a quote on repairs for a fax machine, the man I spoke with talked me through the problem to help me figure out a diagnosis before I actually took it anywhere, just so I could better evaluate the cost of repairs. We decided just to buy a new fax, but if you're considering using their services, please do.
I've worked in IT for just a few years, but it was evident from our conversation that their staff provide courteous and competent assistance, even when they aren't doing surgery on sick faxes and printers.

Thoughtful, generous service and helpful advice! It is clear from the interactions I had, both over the phone and and in person, that this company encourages it's employees to treat customers as they themselves would like to be treated. When my printer broke (after the warrantee expired, of course), I took it to the service department here. I walked in the door right as they were closing, but all the staff were very gracious and took their time to help me.
My expectation was to drop it off, pay the estimate fee and hear back from them later in the week. The gentleman helping me poked around my printer, ran a few test prints and looked up the cost of the part I most likely needed--and gave me the bad news that it probably would cost more to repair it than the machine was worth. It would have been easy for him charge me, take it in overnight, then give me the same information.
I appreciate that he took time to help me and didn't take advantage of my situation to get money. I plan to go back to purchase a replacement printer, as I'm confident they will help me get the best product for me, not necessarily what will make them the most money.

We have bought various desktop printers for our home based business from The Portland Printer Place since 2005. We continue to bring them back for cleaning and to purchase supplies. Great service. Very knowledgeable. Fair pricing. Hands down, way better than any box store. As long as Portland Printer Place is around, we'll be customers.

Wow, Chris, the owner very patiently walked me through how to get a report on the problem and then what to try on my own before bringing the machine in. Problem was not resolved so next I guess I get to meet him in person. Thanks for running your business like the kind of business you would like to go to.

I'm not sure about how this place is with printers, but, I don't recommend going here for any projector repairs or diagnostics. I can understand special circumstances, such as their only projector technician being on vacation or family sick leave, etc. I have a feeling that's why they had my projector for at least a month, without even looking at it. However, once that tech returned to work, and it had still been a week or so, I called and inquired a couple times.
By my second phone call, they magically looked at it, and got back to me within 3 hours. The diagnosis was a "broken optical unit", which is "not a cost effective repair". So, I ate the standard diagnostic fee (I think it was around $45) and brought the projector home. Later, I took the projector apart, and adjusted the optical unit LCDs myself. My projector now works. Needless to say, I'm a little frustrated with the lack of knowledge and/or customer service.

Short review: Skip the box stores and go to The Printer Place for your next printer! Long review: My home business relies on quality printing, and looking for new printers used to drive me to tears. About 2 years ago, I decided to try The Printer Place for a new printer. We were greeted by a lovely employee who asked a few questions about what I was printing, and quickly narrowed the search down to 2 printers (note: bring digital files with you next time, so you can test the printers with your own images!).
There was no pressure to buy the more expensive model, and in fact, I ended up purchasing the cheaper of the two, which just so happened to be the floor model. Not only was I given a discount for the floor model, unprompted, but the employee offered to hold onto the box for 6 months! That way we didn't have to deal with all the packaging, but it would be available if anything were to happen to the printer and we needed to send it back. WHAT?! Are you angels, Printer Place people?
I think you might be. I've had to bring the printer in once for a minor repair, and they waived the service fee since I purchased the machine there. I can also get all my toner and imaging kits right there in the store. Also, this may sound silly, but as a woman, I really appreciate it when a male salesperson talks to ME instead of the man I'm with. I was the one there buying the printer, and I'm the one the salesperson spoke to. Thank you, Printer Place!

I have been going to the Printer Place ever since I moved to Portland, 10 years ago (2001). At first, it was because it was the closest place. But I quickly found out (my first visit), that I'd chosen well--for the excellent service and product availability. The real test, though, is how well a business keeps up this kind of quality, and the guys at the Printer Place surely have.
When I've had a problem with my printer (not the fault of the printer!), they were always there to get help from by phone. When I needed new printer cartridges and called to see if there were any in, they always had it already set aside for me when I came by. When I bought my second printer from them, I was in a real work swamp, and Michael actually came over to my house and set it up for me. Chris did that, too, when I bought my third printer. Now, lest you think that their printers are so cheap that I need to keep buying them, understand that I use the hell out of them, given my line of work. Anyway, this third printer was acting up, and Chris didn't hesitate to replace it for me free of charge, and (once again) deliver it to my house and set it up.
In the course of all this great business, we have sort of gotten to know each other! I know that Michael loves beach glass and anything Mickey Mouse, that Chris plays the piano beautifully (he played mine) and Dave plays guitar--and they all love my chocolate-chip cookies. It just feels so reassuring to know that a business will stand behind their products and services--with consistency, professionalism and genuine friendliness. I love these guys! I wouldn't think of going anywhere else for my computer-printer needs. Keep up the great work! Claire

If you are looking to purchase a printer by all means do not go anywhere else! All I have to say is this is the first place I have given 5 stars and its because the owner is probably the only person I have ever met that stresses customer service as much as my dad! Perk -the owner even let my company have a trial run of the printer, only paying for paper and ink so that we could be sure it was suitable for our printing purposes.

Hot Damn! I've never been happier to review something so mundane! I run a business, and I don't spend most of my time thinking about printers. In fact, 98% of the time, I could give a shit about printers. All I care is that they work. When they stop working, THEN they get my attention. When my office machine turned in its two weeks, notice, I had to find something better before it hit the road.
I tried everything. Best Buy, Office Depot, and even Costco (they supposedly sell office equipment, but you can only buy it online. sight unseen. Really?) Every stop was the same. "I don't really know what you need, I don't really care, have you checked our website?" After I had exhausted all of the lousy big-box options, I realized that The Printer Place was literally on my drive to and from work.
Hell yeah! This place isn't much to look at inside, but the salesman actually know what they're talking about (gasp), and their prices are reasonable. If you enjoy shopping at major electronics retailers, I would caution you that Printer Place may not be your bag. The sales guys here are old-school, and it's their job to sell. There are some cases where I need that, and buying something like a business-quality printer is one of them.
Aside from sales, they also stock printer cartridges and have a repair shop that is factory authorized by a lot of the big boys. I'm sure no one is reading this and beating a path to their door, but file this one away in your long-term memory. Remember: printers = Printer Place. Duh.
