Realizing $1,600 in sales in a month in those first years was exciting. In 1985, a satellite store was added at 506 N. McKinley in the Ball State Village, targeting the needs of the university's community, students and faculty. And Hiatt Printing was born. Since 1974, Hiatt Printing has been evolving from a quick printer to a full-service, complete business printing operation.
There are many different ways we promote ideas, actions, and emotions - newspapers, letters, conversation, billboards, television and magazines to name a few. All of these, as well as others, convey a message, though some have more of a lasting impression than others. To graphic designers, communication is foremost.
More and more, our customers are bringing in their own work to be printed. There are several programs that make this process easier by providing tools for the user to collect everything needed for their prints. This saves time and hassle for both the customer and print provider. Below are some helpful instructions for doing this successfully.
Make sure you do not make a Shortcut on the Desktop. Copy this file onto your disk or in your email as an attachment. If you are emailing the font(s), you may want to zip them and attach the zip file to the email. Even if it is only one font this is a good idea. Email programs sometimes filter out font files. If they are zipped it will not see the font files. If you do not have access to these folders you will need to talk with your Network Administrator.

I had six items printed from this company. They were using a low-end Brother inkjet printer like you can pick up from Staples for $40. The sizes they printed were wrong, the pricing was astronomical, and I heard the owner using racial epithets during business hours. I would highly suggest you check out the vast array of other printing companies in town to suit your printing needs. *EDIT* I have used this horrible company's services and have had multiple issues with them.
I have heard the owner making disparaging remarks about marginalized communities and I have seen the comments he's chosen to write on social media platforms. My review was of their poor products and poor services.

Don't give your business to an organization that is lead by a person who cannot conduct himself professionally on social media. Who knows if he'll come after you on Facebook if he doesn't happen to agree with your lifestyle choices. It's one thing for businesses to be able to choose with whom they do business; it is quite another and completely inappropriate to go after someone on social media and call them transphobic names/use hate speech.

It is truly terrible to spread the kind of hatred that Chris does. There are so many other businesses to support without such unapologetic transphobia. Shame on you. The owner responded with the attached screen shot. It's understandable that you would want us to separate your vitriolic and heinous personal views from your business because then you would be able to get away with your hatred with absolutely no consequence, but that's not how this works. Your words matter and you deserve to be held accountable for the filth you are spewing. Barf.

The owner of this business is transphobic and a bully. He's gone so far as to threaten to out trans people to their families and calls people "it". This business owner can't keep his mouth shut about his disdain for others. If you respect other people and think they should have dignity and basic human rights, don't patronize this business

I had my eye on this place in hopes to make cheaper local prints of my artwork. The first time I went in, I talked with a lovely lady who talked to me about the quality of paper and ran me through the prices. The second time I went in, the owner was there, and he talked down to me the moment I started talking. Now I will admit I am a nervous person who takes a second to get to the point, and I did come in with PNGs instead of PDFs (my mistake) but instead of explaining that, the man was plain and simple a huge dick.
He acted like my whole presence was a burden and tried to direct me to a more artsy business I had already checked the prices of that was a little out of my price range (which is fine if he wasn't so condescending about it). He acted like I had just entered a gas station and asked where the lobster was. I think it's pretty natural to ask a printing place if they can do quality art prints, but I guess I am the stupid one.
I would have probably spent almost $300 there to get prints to stock my store, but due to his general lack of tact and higher-than-all attitude I will probably never return to the grungy basement facilities of Hiatt Printing. Their prices are good, but their owner is an asshole.
