Robert C. Paulhamus founded Paulhamus Litho in 1957. It began as a one-man print shop in the basement of a hardware store in Montoursville, PA. He started out with a foot treadle letterpress, an old-model 11"x17" litho press, a hand-cranked cutter, a foot-powered stapling machine, and three cabinets of used movable type.
Full-color images and photos to be printed in 4-color process should be prepared in CMYK (not RGB). Spot colors should be identified as Pantone colors. Multicolored graphics that print properly to continuous-tone output devices (e.g., inkjet and lazer printers) should be separated for output to a printing press.
The paper companies we deal with harvest trees from tree farms specifically planted, harvested, and replanted to provide an ongoing source of paper pulp. We recycle all of our scrap paper daily. The offcuts and spoiled sheets are put into our compacter, made into bales and sent to a local recycling center for processing.
Following is a list of our equipment. Please review it at your convenience and it should help you to understand to what extent we can be of service to you. In addition to the above, we have many pieces of material-handling equipment, our own forklift and two standard dock-high loading docks. We also have a bale maker and recycle all of our paper scraps, along with other environmentally responsible business practices.
