Services
Gordon's Ink is owned and operated by Chris Clancy who has worked in all aspects of the photography industry since graduating Boston College in 1993. More than just a trained printer, Chris offers the critical eye of an experienced photographer. Additionally, he gives all clients one on one personal service and attention; this commitment to personal service helps Gordon's Ink stand apart from the competition. Primary clients of Gordon's Ink are photographers, artists and designers who are in need of true fine-art printing.
Our primary goal is to provide you with the highest quality prints with true archival longevity. We offer the highest print resolution, detail and color range using pigmented inks with a wide selection of media. We offer true museum quality output when reproducing your photography, artwork, illustrations and historical images.
Many of our clients are using high resolution digital cameras and scanners, and therefore are providing high quality files which are ready to print. Many artists need to have their original artwork scanned by us; we can easily reproduce any size up to 4 feet by 7 feet. There is only so much that can be done to make a poor quality digital file look good as printed output, so high quality digitizing is essential to the printing process.

Chris who owns Gordon's Ink is a professional with skills that are hard to find. His quality work is finished timely, priced fairly and Chris uses the best inks and paper products. I have had him print hundreds of pieces of artwork that he has scanned and corrected for printing. He is easy to work with and I never have had a complaint. You can't go wrong using Gordon's Ink. I've started using Chris at Gordon's ink to print all of my large prints for gallery use. I get a quality print every time and find it to be more cost-effective than printing at home on a hit or miss basis. His location is also great since it's in the same building as Crestar which I use for all of my framing.

I received quotes from several local printing agencies in Rhode Island during the week I needed printing done for a festival. Chris was up against several other competitors who were all coming in around the same price range. What set Chris apart from the other companies that I had called was his pleasant disposition, his gentle and calm description of the different products he offered and their pricing (always a consideration as a small business owner with grand ideas), and the final product and its timing.

Trust me when I say this, I am learning the business of graphics and design and how that relates to printing. I spoke to several other printing companies who were so impatient with my lack of knowledge when trying to print postcards for promotional materials. I wasn't sure that I had the right files from my design firm in order to get some last minute cards done.

I received the guidance that I was looking for and was able to make a truly informed decision, a final product that I was really blown away with, and a nice demeanor to boot. What's not to like about a company that stands behind their product, the time in which they can get it to you, and a friendly knowledgeable person to help guide you to the right product for your budget? Well, nothing. Which is why I choose Gordon's Ink for my business needs.

Wow, Chris was so nice and the final product so perfect! I highly, highly recommend his services to anyone who needs quality photo reproductions. Unfortunately, the occasion for using Gordon's Ink was not a happy one: I wanted a large headshot blown up for a memorial service. I also had several other photos enlarged, but on a smaller scale. I needed all of this with a four day turnaround and I ended up needing one of the photo scans for the memorial program and Chris was great!

I have done some of my own enlargements using Picasa and cheap photo labs and it ended up being well worth it to employ someone to get good quality enlargements. It helped that I had high quality originals, but I was thrilled with the end product. Chris' prices seemed reasonable given the quality. I think we paid $70 for an enlargement from 5x8 to poster size.

This included whatever touchups were needed. I didn't compare them head to head, but I know the studio mark, at a minimum, was edited out which was great. Go check out this man's company! If I lived in the area, I would consider getting some of my own travel photos done up for hanging here.
