Services
DiggyPOD was originally a small printing business called Quickprint, Inc. and was started in 1988 by Laura Alexander and three partners. Over the years the company served the local Saline, MI market and became the preferred print shop for the area. In 2001, Tim Simpson bought the Quickprint business from Laura and changed the name to DiggyPOD, Inc. (DiggyPOD stands for Digital Print on Demand).
We are the go to online resource for the do-it-yourselfer that wants to learn about the self-publshing process. Are you excited? In your journey to self-publish a seed of thought into a real-life book in your hand, you're nearing the time of birth! With your words on the page, you're a few steps away from getting a crisp-paged book you can flip through.
The amazing thing about technology today is that every person has the power to publish their words into the world. This wasn't always the case. As little as ten years ago, when you wrote a book - whether a cookbook, a motivational book, a poetry book or novel - your path to publishing had just started.
International Standard Book Numbers, also known as ISBNs or ISBN numbers, are required to publish and distribute a book through booksellers. ISBN numbers are used to identify books across the world, and nearly all book sellers require books have a unique ISBN number. Bowker is the only agency in the United States that can issue ISBN numbers.

This company is really awful! DO NOT USE THEM! I tried to order 600 hard back books and was having difficulty using their interface. It took over a week to have someone call me back and they got very upset when I was just asking questions. Then the owner of the company, Tim Simpson, called me and was a total jerk! He even hung up on me. Very unprofessional and just the worst company ever!

This was my first time working with diggypod and I must say I am just taken aback by the amount of dedication, quality and their ability to work with the customer and keep them involved in the process. I ordered 160 books which all turned out fantastic! Not only that but they were easy to reach if I had any questions and they reached out themselves by phone to explain to me what needed to be fixed.
Their templates are easy to use and the pdf checker is very user friendly. This was by far the easiest process! Thank you to the team at diggypod for making my experience one to remember!

This is the fourth time that I am ordering from this company and all I have to say about them is that, they are excellent in everything that they do. From the moment I started the order to the final details even after the delivery. The quality they provide is top of the line. They are amazing at customer service and they provide excellent service in everything I asked them to do.
Even when the delivery people bent a few books during delivery, they were immediately responsive in replacing them for me with no questions asked. I will print all my upcoming books with this company. I recommend Diggy Pod to everyone I know and I have already done that. Wishing you continued success. Marina Benjamin

DiggyPOD printed several rounds of my book, and at first I was extremely pleased. But their matte finish peels. The owner sent me some replacement books but the problem continued up to a year later and was never addressed. Then one round the cover didn't come out at all like the proof, and nobody even cared to discuss it with me. I used to work in printing, and I know that a result like what I got means nobody even bothered to make sure the cover matched the proof, and they just mailed them to me like that.
They are a good value and generally do an okay job, and the owner seems to be honest and earnest, but if you use them you need to stay on top of everything, don't leave any of it up to them otherwise you won't get a good product.

I have given DiggyPOD two print jobs in 2018 - one a 80 page and one a 350 page. As Annie G. said in her review - pay attention, follow the videos, take your time, talk with customer service and your printing will turn out fine. Yeah, maybe a little more Mac OS X friendly would be nice, but everything worked out fine for me. There was a real problem with my software reducing the file sizes on. PDF photo files.
I talked with Apple Mac a couple of times and they were not able to resolve it either. But, the printed photos were fine for general use, but not really sharp for commercial use. This was NOT DiggyPOD's fault and I was advised well in advance. Both front and back cover images looked Great. Be sure to use their PDF file checker, it works great.
My jobs were printed and shipped ahead of schedule, which may not be the case all of the time, so don't count on it. Customer Service, Valerie, helped me a lot. I'm going to use DiggyPOD again on my next project.

Great experience, work was done fast and efficently. If you follow their instructions (which admittedly can be cumbersome) you should have no problem. Suggest using their video tutorials and taking your time to read and get to know their processes before submitting your manuscript. My overall experience was very good.

I decided to try this company to publish a small 33 pages book. Uploaded my designs into templates. Yes, just like other reviewers stated everywhere across different platforms, Mac is an issue here. This company is not exactly Mac-friendly. I ignored it. Paid $35 for them to make changes. Valerie was my assigned customer representative. From the beginning, as we communicated, it felt a bit tight, not super friendly. However, I thought, maybe it's just me, not hearing well.
As they received files, I got notification with proofs. Super fast! Awesome! I called in to Valerie with a question about cover. She was very nice and it felt like we were working as a team. She assured me that all looked right, and said that if I approve, book can go into print before 2:00 pm on that day Tue. 7/18 and I will receive it by the end of next week.
I told her to go ahead and print. Today I called in to check on the status of my project and see if it's possible to get the book into my hands by Wednesday, 7/26, since I am traveling out of state for a speaking gig, and wanted my book be ready for it. Apparently, they didn't even start printing my book, and claimed that I didn't approve it. Valerie was defensive and told me if I want my book by Thursday next week I'll have to pay $147 for shipping!
The company just blamed me that it was my fault and that I didn't approve files. Valerie is not a customer service oriented representative and if she is a face of this company, they don't really care about their customers at all. After our conversation on the phone, I received an email with projected shipping date being 7/31/17. That's not delivery date!
Delivery won't happen till 8/5, a week after my event. Not a slightest effort was made to keep a customer happy, to have a return customer and referrals. Will I be back? Unlikely. I am not saying anything about their quality of printing. I hope their quality of printing exceeds that of a customer service, and if it doesn't, it will be one expensive lesson to learn. I really suggest taking your business elsewhere, somewhere, where you are wanted.

I ordered some books to be published on my mothers autobiography for her 90 birthday party. I was disappointed with the cover design. They state, in their policy, that the cover design will be in color, but only the title was in color. The photos on the front and back cover were in black and white, I ordered 24 books and asked for just a few extras to be done correctly with color. They refused to compromise at all. I would not recommend this publishing company.

I helped a friend 'publish' his 2nd book. Took me about ten minutes total on Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing. And it's free service. DiggyPOD staff members were very nice and courteous. It was not a fun process however. I spent in excess of five hours working through all the kinks in the process. 1. Their formating system doesn't work with a Mac? Weird, huh?
And the way you're supposed to learn that is to watch their videos? Not read the text directions or the little book they sent me in the USPS mail. 2. After I'd OK'd the original proofs, the author said he'd be willing to pay the $99 for a cover design. I'm an IT person; not a graphic designer and my cover was pretty ugly! 3.
So we paid, I accepted the proof. Without noticing DiggyPOD's graphic designer forgot one small detail: the author's name. How can a book cover designer, working maybe five minutes to design a cover, forget the author's name? 4. I missed it in my proofing so he got to pay the $99 for nice cover without his name anywhere on it. 5. Llike many of the other reviews I've read about DiggyPOD, they did try to charge me the extra $40 for changes.
Such as the one where I used their formatting program, saved my file and sent it to them, only to be told that it doesn't work for Macs? 6. I'll be happy to find another place to print his mini-novellas for the same price but with more reliable service.

After numerous printing issues with the printers used by Authorhouse and their unwillingness to stand behind the substandard products I continually received, I gave Diggypod a shot and couldn't be happier with their performance. I have since attended several author seminars and recommended Diggypod to other aspiring authors with printing issues. I am just finishing my second book and Diggypod will be printing that one for me as well.

I found everyone extremely helpful. I called often for assistance and got it every time. As a new self-published author, I needed only a publisher. I don't trust the more expensive publishers offering marketing. At age 80 and starting a new writing career, I needed to keep things as simple as possible.

DiggyPod spoiled me! When I moved from your company to a publisher, there was nothing but stress. If yall were to offer a warehousing and shipping option that would keep me from going to the post office several times a week, I'd jump on it with my next book! Any time I wanted to, I could go to your website and see exactly where my project was. Great comfort for a first-time writer.
