City Print & Mail

I've worked with Harry at City Print and Mail for a few years now, they make the whole process easy. I just email them what I need and how many, they take my mailing list and get it all done in short order. I don't have to leave my office or anything to get the job done. I'll continue to use them, it's great to be able to work with local businesses.

I work at Creative Growth Art Center in Oakland, managing the Development and Membership department. We partner with City Print & Mail on all our bulk and direct mail campaigns. Seven times a year they print our gallery exhibition showcards (6x9 glossy full colour) and then handle the mailings. They also print, collate & stuff, and mail our complicated multi-part massive End of Year Appeal.

Their advanced software pre-sorts our mailing lists which has served to clean up our database. We could not be more grateful to have such an excellent, professional, courteous, thoughtful and LOCAL company handling all this for us and at such competitive prices. Compared with many of the other print houses, City Print & Mail is SO reasonable and the quality is outstanding.

I have used direct mail since the 1990s, working with half a dozen bulk mail houses in California and in NY. City Print & Mail is by far the most excellent shop I've ever worked with both in terms of the printing, the processing, and the posting. Harry and Calvin are ALWAYS calm and gracious, no matter how squeezed and hectic things can get on my end. Harry has also offered invaluable advice to me about how to make the most of "direct mail". If you are looking for a print and mail house, with excellent everything, then you are lucky you because - you've found it!

I do not believe they are equipped for large job requests anymore. I hoped to assist a client with shipment of near 2K pieces and they Invoiced me and said ok. Due to billing changes Calvin said no and denied services. I could've referred more business to them but now I'd say to others rethink using them. Calvin may say no when you've put time and effort to trying to go with them. Look for a business to support you throughout the request, who will respond professionally, who won't require you to drop off and will pick up.

Really good service! They did our printing/mailing of about 400 addresses within 1.5 day notice. Calvin was very flexible with my outrageous request and met my needs at a great cost.

Great service and great prices. Harry & Calvin are always very responsive and get everything done in a very timely manner. They're pretty flexible with your timelines. We've never had issues with them and we've been working with them for our printing and mailing needs for years.

Harry and Calvin have been taking care of all of our printing needs for several years. It is a pleasure to work with both of them. They are always on time, even if we aren't. I have worked with Calvin at City Print and Mail probably close to a dozen times in the last year or so and he has always done an amazing job. The materials printed by City Print and Mail are always high quality. The ink coverage and color matching are excellent. They are also very helpful on advising which papers work best for specific mail pieces (postcards vs one or two-fold pieces, etc).

They are very speedy and thorough about pulling mailing lists and know all the ins and outs of that nuanced process. Calvin himself is very friendly, professional, and exceptionally accessible and responsive via phone and email. He has this great can-do attitude and is helpful in solving problems and coming up with innovative solutions that are above and beyond what a professional print/mail vendor normally provides.

He works almost as an extension of our team and we are eternally grateful for his cheerful attitude, patience and willingness to help with any job, large or small! I understand how difficult it can be to find a quality print and mail production vendor and after working with dozens of others, I whole-heartedly recommend City Print and Mail.

I cannot say enough good things about this business. My company (a local non-profit) has been working with Harry for many years and he always provides great service. We do several multi-part jobs per year and a couple of other one-piece mailings as well. Like Roxanne, we frequently submit jobs at the last minute and sometimes need to change things even after that. Harry is always patient and supportive, cool under pressure.

On more than one occasion he has made suggestions that saved us time (and money) and helped us to be more effective with our mailings. In addition, he has been incredible in helping us to deal with ever-increasing policy changes at the post office. These guys are really terrific. I would never want to use anyone else for our mailings!

Harry was no help at all! I called for a quote for 1600 pieces of mail to be printed and stuffed. Our need was simple -we needed a natural looking signature (to look like the person signed it themselves) and have the envelopes look like they were handwritten. I was asking for help with a font and Harry and I were not connecting. I was asking for help from the expert, but he wasn't coming up with the answers.

Why go to a printer when they can't assist you and direct you? I think if he could have had his way, he would have had me come down with my letterhead and envelopes and do it myself. Thanks Harry! I'll go to someone who wants to help us with our needs. You want to support the little guys, but in the end, this little guy thinks he's too good to actually assist the customer. My advise is to either do your mailings yourself or go to fed-ex. At least they work with you!
