Not the greatest experience and when you call for answers no one knows. I've been waiting 14 weeks for equipment they told me 8-10. Which is fine, but where is the communication rather than demanding payment. I would not recommend ordering through Northwest Graphic Supply Co due to lack of communication.

Been shopping for art supplies from Northwest Graphic Supply for over 20 years and am so grateful for the best prices in town- art supplies can be rough on budget, but not here! I usually buy Golden Acrylics (always 40% off), brushes, gouache (80% off now), watercolor paper, pads and color pencils. Also have found usual finds like a protractor that fits on a wood yard stick to make huge circles!
Their specialty is screen printing and one of their employees wrote a guide on the subject- although I don't do it- I enjoy seeing the wall of customer's prints along with art from the employees who are artists too. Can't tell you how much I enjoy coming in and talking to the helpful, caring, friendly staff! Living in the neighborhood- I walk in there with my dog- how nice.
They are VERY MUCH in business- may look empty in spots as they are remodeling and moving supplies around- have fabulous sales going on. So important to shop independent businesses rather than just online- supports the neighbors/neighborhood. Look for their fabulous vintage sign- especially pretty at night! Thanks Northwest Graphics!

One of my favorite errands is coming here- staff is always delightful, everyone! Been buying art supplies at the store for 20+ years paint, brushes, paper and useful drafting equipment like a gadget that attaches to a yard stick to make giant circles. Also, the prices are probably the best in town- making it easier if you are in an art business and often have additional items on sale. Thank you for your wonderful store and people!

As a self-employed designer and pattern maker, I can never have enough rulers. When I moved to the US, I couldn't bring all of my tools and a lot of my rulers were left behind. I love the gridded rulers by the C-thru ruler company and so I went about looking for an online retailer and I found Northwest Graphic Supply Co. The stuff on their online store were to die for and the prices amazing!
They ship fast and they have excellent customer service and answered my questions on the phone about the rulers I bought from them as best as they could. I'm for sure a repeat customer!

As a first time customer looking for a screen to be printed, the woman who answered the phone was condescending and rude. She could have asked me some questions to help me clarify what I was looking for, esp since they specialize in screen printing. I was wanting to purchase this locally as they are located just down the street from me but now will buy from one of their online competitors.
I recall many years ago stopping in and looking for some art supplies, I had gotten a similar attitude and ended up just going to Michaels. Thought I would give it a try again thinking that perhaps my past experience was just the result of someone having a bad day. Unless you are an "artist" and can speak like one, this store is not for you.

We are having an issue with Northwest Graphic Supply Company. We attended the SGIA show in New Orleans back in October and decided to purchase their Automatic Screen Wash and Emulsion remover systems. Not the show model, not a refurbished unit, but a NEW. Total cost was around $19,000. When the crates arrived today we took the lid off the first crate it looked like the machine was refurbished.
We noticed rust on the power box, the control panel looked used, and there were scratches on the top of the unit. Just not acceptable when your spending this type of money on new equitpment. We called Robert Becker who is our representative of Northwest Graphic Supply company and explained the problem. He had the owner of the company on speaker phone to discuss the issue.
The owner begins to explain to me that it was a new machine and they only used it for the SGIA show, which we did not know this until today. He also tells me that the company they buy their power supply boxes from had issues with the powder coating and he thought it was resolved. "Its just a little rust!" I explain to him, can you imagine how this rust will look 6 months from now!
He never gave an answer why the control panel looked worn or why the unit had scrtatches all over it. He offered to send replacement parts in which we declined his offer, these are not parts you can just unscrew and replace. You really need an experienced technician. We do not want the liablilty of one of our employees getting hurt becuase we installed something wrong.
Electricity and Water do not mix. We told them that we wanted a 100% refund. He proceeds to tell me that we will be out of the $800+ shipping and a 20% restocking fee. So, now we are going to lose $4500.00+ because they decided to sell something that was rusty, scratched up and used. We also offered to have them send down a technician to replace the two parts with new parts, but never heard back from them.
Just beware of what you are buying from them, if not you will get burned like we did. Photo of the control panel and power box: http://ndesigns.net/art/IMG_20120112_102624.jpg Photo of the unit (Top View): http://ndesigns.net/art/IMG_20120112_102637.jpg

This place is useful in that it exists. Other than that it's not that great. The hours are horriblly inconvienient, the customer service is non-existant, and when i brought them a Illustrator file it wouldn't open properly b/c they have an older version of the software. WTF? I do graphics for a hobby, you do it for a living as a business.
How do I have more recent software? Luckily I had my laptop with me and had to resave each layer as a seperate file, since their computer flattened my layers into one. So not PRO. Go somewhere else if you have time to spare. If you are in a pinch, they can get it done but prepare to be frustrated.
