State of the art, high production step and European Thumb Cut indexing module. Hopper loaded, the Rega 4, automatically counts pages to the proper locations, cuts and delivers. This configuration is ideal and highly cost effective for address and appointment books, planners, diaries and catalogs. On a gradual step indexed product such as address books, appointment books and diaries, Ross Gage is able to pad print on the tabs after cutting, thus ensuring perfect register.
Thumb Cut Indexing is the oldest and best known form of indexing. It is mostly commonly found in bibles and dictionaries. Basically, the process has changed little for many years. Thumb Cut Indexing involves three separate steps: first, the specific pages must be found and the position of each cut marked.
The importance of early, thorough planning and layout cannot be overemphasized. The better job you the publisher, and/or you the printer do in planning, the more effective the indexed product will be.
