Uptown Press began serving the Baltimore / Washington business community with quality printing services nearly 60 years ago. Founder Louis Prahl, Sr. started the company in the basement of his East 36th Street home with a small Heidelberg letterpress. Through the 50s, 60s and 70s, Mr. Prahl grew the business -- and outgrew the basement and a subsequent storefront location -- before retiring in 1979, turning the reigns of the company over to son, Louis Prahl, Jr., and Louis Jr.'s childhood friend, Jack Weber.

To Everyone at Uptown Press: One word sums up my experience - Outstanding! For Anyone Looking for an Outstanding Business who believes in Quality & Service: I had a client in need of a large photographic print and after experiencing lack luster enthusiasm from out of state companies, I found Uptown Press. Jack and his very competent and friendly staff took the time to listen and understand the needs of the project and propose several options to complete the job.
The continual communication was great as it helped me to balance the needs of the client and to know exactly where the print was in the process. The photograph was large, 60" x 96" and the finished picture was amazing. They delivered the print to the client who loved the finished print. Uptown Press prints all sizes of prints and other graphics. While this project was the largest commissioned print I have been asked to create, Uptown Press is the only source in the area to be able to professionally and enthusiastically handle this project. I love Uptown Press! I've had vinyl banners printed as well as brochures and posters. The prices were great, the customer service was excellent! I'm new to professional printing so when I sent files to Karen Sailer, she kindly called me and walked me through how to package and save files in InDesign. Quick turnaround, great local business!
